As I wrote about in my post I Want To Do Things, I am creating a list of 31 things I want to do before December 31 2012. With your help, I’ll have this list wrapped up pretty soon. Feel free to comment on the bottom of this page to add more ideas. Here is what I have so far.

Holy cow you live in Denver! I just moved from Denver and can help with # 9 – Little India on 6th avenue. Do it this weekend!

    • Really? I just moved in here in october. I’m loving it, what about you? Maybe I will, 6th ave isn’t too far. I’ll see if I can get someone to go with me.

      • Meghan

I lived in Denver for 6 years and it was absolutely amazing. I just moved (2 weeks ago!) to Montreal and am having a great time here as well. If you ever need any restaurant/city recommendations, let me know!

I don’t know if this would work for you, but I am moderately fluent in Spanish, and I have always wanted to go to a Spanish speaking country and see if I can “hang with the big spanish-speaking dogs”.

    March 28, 2012 at 7:08 am

    • Hmmm going to Spanish speaking country seems like something more for my 32 before 32 list but maybe I can go into the kitchen of a Mexican restaurant and test out my spanish speaking chops there.

  5. Just go ahead and rip the band-aid off on the going to the movie by yourself. Once you do it a couple of times it won’t be a big deal at all. Dirty little secret–you will start to want to go to movies by yourself. You don’t have to share any of that gigantic box of candy. Its glorious. Great way to “turn off” completely for a couple of hours. Don’t worry about the judgement from the ticket taker who will say “just” one. They haven’t had a date in a while or don’t have friends either.(that may or may not be true that’s just what I convince myself of to get by those first couple of times)

    March 28, 2012 at 7:48 am

    • Hahaha those ticket guys can be so condescending. I think I’m going to go for it this weekend, I just don’t know what to see!

      March 28, 2012 at 8:13 am

  6. Yeah…you need to do things. I can’t believe that you haven’t already:
    1. Watch the Star Wars movies (Didn’t everyone that hadn’t already seen all of these take care of that when they were in theatres years ago? This weekend. Watch them already.)

2.Eat really hot buffalo wings (This is supposed to be a rite of passage when you are 21-ish. Eat really hot buffalo wings, drink beer (legally) and then get drunk to forget about the overwhelming burning in your mouth. Sounds like you now have Friday night plans).

3.Go to a movie by myself (Not a big deal, a lot of people don’t do this. Good luck to you!)

4.Order an omelette (Never found yourself in a Denny’s or Perkins at 3am after the bars close, starving, wishing for food and ordered an omelette?)

I won’t go item by item but I have one piece of advice for you…

    LIVE!!! DAMN YOU LIVE!!!!

    March 28, 2012 at 9:32 am

    • Hahaha that’s my plan! That’s why I’m making these lists. I’ll get started this weekend, don’t worry.

      March 28, 2012 at 1:16 pm

      • It’s too late. I’m worried and I’ll continue to be worried until things start getting crossed off the list.

        March 28, 2012 at 1:21 pm

  7. you have just given me the best idea ever…i too need to make my own list and do those things… wow…that would be so cool…even if i dont do them…i can still say i have list to myself… 🙂

    March 28, 2012 at 2:53 pm

  8. Personal top 5 things to do before your 47.
    1) have drunken lousy gay sex with your roommates best friend in his bed.
    2) hurl in his fish tank. It’s never clean anyway.
    3) go normal speed over speed bumps.
    4) Let your friend dump you because he only wants friends who are neo hippys.
    5) drive to L.A. from S.F. Stopping every hour for a cocktail.

    Garrard.

    • Hmmm… I’ve done #3. #1 really isn’t my cup of tea. #2 and #4 are a little confusing. But I like #5!

  9. I do like the Indian food from time to time. Used to live there in Lakewood right off 6th. There’s a Thai place on Alameda I believe called Talk of the Thai. Not quite Indian but they have some bangin curry dishes as well. Also, you can pan handle enough money for a Rockies ticket so that shouldn’t be a problem!

    March 29, 2012 at 10:39 am

    • Good to know, I’ll go check it out. Gotta start crossing things off this list.

Learn to do cartwheels. They’re the ultimate solo physical expression of happiness. And impressive if you can do them well.

    March 29, 2012 at 12:56 pm

    • Learn?! I did gymnastics when I was 3 for like 6 months. I can throw a cart wheel into a round off likes it’s nobody’s business!

Oh, snap. That was my favorite one from my list, so you’re one up on me.

  11. #18. Make a list of 31 things to do before the 31st of December. Done!

    March 30, 2012 at 7:36 pm

  12. 19. See your favorite band/artist in concert — make a road trip of it if they don’t come to Denver.
    20. Catch a Broncos game (especially now that Tebow’s gone).
    21. Do an amateur comedy night.
    22. Stop telling people you did gymnastics — except during the Olympics — shout it from the rooftops then.

    Good luck!
